(KNSI) – TEDx St. Cloud is set for Thursday, October 12th, inside the Paramount Theatre.
The program runs from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. and will feature talks from six presenters. Some speakers include Kyle Martin, the team physician for the St. Cloud State Huskies, and the city’s Public Services Director Tracy Hodel.
St. Cloud’s waste treatment facility has become a leader in sustainability efforts. It takes restaurant and brewery waste, which is high in sugars, and breaks it down using bacteria to create fuel. St. Cloud was the first to produce green hydrogen.
Patty Wetterling will deliver what is sure to be an emotional address. She became an advocate for a federal sex offender registry and other child safety measures after her 11-year-old son was abducted and eventually killed in October 1989.
There is also a reception beginning at 5:00 p.m. at The Regency. A link to buy tickets and review the full roster of presenters is here.
TEDx follows a similar format to the well-known TED talk series, but it is independently organized at the local level.
