(KNSI) – The Tri-County Humane Society’s largest fundraiser of the year is Saturday at Wilson Park in St. Cloud.

The theme of the 35th annual companion walk is Furrassic Park, a riff on the dinosaur movie. Registration begins at 9:00, and the walk goes from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Executive Director Vicki Davis says there’s a change to the traditional route. “This year, due to construction, it’s a much shorter walk. It’s probably only about two miles and then, even if you have a short-legged or overweight dog, and you need to go a little bit shorter than that, we even have one right in the park area.”

Along with the walk, there are all kinds of activities, including art projects for kids, costume contests and free microchipping for your four-legged family member.

Davis described one of her favorite games. “We’ve got what we call musical chairs for dogs. And that just means that instead of sitting on a chair, you have your dog sit. And whoever gets the first one to sit, of course, stays in the game.”

There will also be a silent auction and raffle. A reptile area will feature snakes and turtles for kids to check out. Anyone can attend, even if you’re not participating in the walk.
