(KNSI) – The deadline to help with the United Way of Central Minnesota’s largest event of the year is Friday, and more volunteers are needed.
United Way of Central Minnesota Director of Volunteer Engagement Mary Krippner says registration is going well. “We have 700 openings. And we already have 475 people signed up to volunteer. So, we have a little over 200 spots available for people to sign up. We have several projects available and a lot of fun ones too.”
Krippner says individuals, families, organizations and work groups can volunteer. “Anybody is eligible to come and help. Just as long as you have the time that you can get away from work and spend a little time in the community making a difference. There are projects anywhere from 30 minutes, to four or five hours. So it just depends upon which works in your schedule and what you like to do.”
The United Way is still looking for help with storm drain stenciling, car detailing, some painting projects, the Country Lights Festival in Sartell, and cooking meals at the Dream Center, to name a few.
The Days of Caring are September 18th through the 22nd. To get more information or to volunteer, click here.
