(KNSI) – It’s your last chance to get your name in the hat for an antlerless deer permit in lottery zones for the 2023 rifle and muzzleloader season.
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources says hunters have until the end of the day Thursday to apply. If you get a license on or before September 7th, you are automatically entered into the lottery for your deer permit area or special hunt. Winners will be notified by a postcard in the mail, allowing them to take an antlerless deer using their regular license in that permit area.
No special permit is needed to take a doe in permit areas with an either sex, two-deer, three-deer or five-deer limit. Hunters who want to participate in a special firearm or muzzleloader deer hunts must also apply through the lottery.
