(KNSI) – A man was arrested Wednesday morning for allegedly killing a toddler in Little Falls.
Police were called to a home on July 6th by the mother of 14-month-old Riverlynn VanNorman after she found the child was not breathing. RiverLynn was rushed to the hospital, where she died.
The Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office did an autopsy and said the child died from “multiple head and neck injuries consistent with homicidal violence.”
Police arrested a 40-year-old Little Falls man who had been caring for the child while her mother was away. The two were temporarily living with him, according to authorities.
He is being held in the Morrison County Jail on suspicion of second-degree murder.
KNSI News does not typically name suspects until they’ve been formally charged.
