(KNSI) – A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for nearly half of Minnesota, including the St. Cloud area.
Benton, Sherburne and Stearns County are under the watch until 11:00 p.m. Tuesday. Strong to severe storms are possible, mainly in eastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin. The biggest threats are from large hail and damaging winds.
Tuesday marks the end of a heat wave that has seen record or near-record temperatures throughout the state over Labor Day weekend.
