(KNSI) – In order for a high school team to have success, teams need help from their young athletes and that’s exactly what has happened for St. Cloud Tech to start the season.
Although a sophomore, Sarah Harris has been contributing to the Tech Tiger Girls Basketball Team for two years now.
In her first three games this season, Harris averaged 10.3 points per game, and over three rebounds per game but against Sauk Rapids-Rice, she had 19 points after sinking five 3-pointers.
Head coach Karl Heine has been impressed with Harris and her ability to get hot from three-point land.
“[Sarah] is probably one of our best shooters from three-point range which we need to extend the floor.”
Although the stats definitely help Tech, Heine is most impressed with Harris’ drive for success in every aspect of her game.
“Sarah is an extremely hard worker that wants to be really good at whatever she is doing. For us, her competitiveness helps drive our team in the direction we want to go.”
Harris also displays her competitive nature in volleyball where she just finished her sophomore season as libero for the Tigers.
Tech volleyball head coach Kristy Husen is enamored with how mature Harris is on the court.
“Sarah is just a sophomore but she has the composure of a senior. Sarah is also a talented artist and student; she will do great things during her time at Tech High School and beyond.”
Harris and Tech Girls Basketball currently have a record of two wins and three losses but have been displaying toughness and grit during the games KNSI has broadcast this season.
The Tigers next game will be when they host Brainerd Thursday, December 12th at 7:15 p.m.
