(KNSI) – The Waite Park City Council will have a work session and regular meeting Monday.

The work session starts at 4:00 p.m. with staff presenting on the 12 requests for proposal that they received for a new public safety facility. The applications have been whittled down to three finalists.

Those firms will each have a half hour to further flesh out their plans. There will also be a brief discussion on the city’s cannabis ordinance and the restrictions placed on school resource officers tucked in state legislation passed last session.

The council’s regular session follows at 6:30. Some items of interest on the agenda include considering nearly $43,000 in improvements to recreation buildings and re-upping a lease.

A warming house at Rivers Edge Park and the south pavilion at Community Park would get new asphalt shingle roofs. The Boy Scout Building at Rivers Edge would have its overhead and side doors replaced and the current siding repainted.

CentraCare is looking to renew its lease of the old public works building on 3rd Street South for one year, starting in November. The hospital will pay the city $500 per month.
