(KNSI) – A Cushing Township man dies after a fiery explosion at his Morrison County farm on Saturday.

The sheriff’s office says 65-year-old Joseph Then was on his tractor when it clipped an underground propane tank valve. The spark led to a major explosion that badly burned him. Then was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center by Life Link helicopter, where he later died from his injuries.

The incident occurred just after 11:45 a.m. Also responding to the scene were Mayo Clinic Ambulance, Randall Fire and Rescue, and Scandia Valley Fire Department.

The farm is located about three miles north of Randall.
