(KNSI) – The Minnesota Department of Health confirms 1,054 new COVID-19 cases and 22 deaths statewide today. This includes 87 new cases and four deaths in the St. Cloud area: two people in Stearns County (one who was in their 60s, the other in their 70s), one Benton County resident in their 80s and one Morrison County resident in their 60s.
The daily test positivity rate remains low at 2.7 percent; the state processed 38,947 COVID-19 tests Thursday.
Almost 498,000 Minnesotans have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose so far, according to data from Wednesday. About 28 percent of those recipients have gotten their second dose.
Two counties have crossed the benchmark of having more than 25 percent of their population vaccinated with at least one dose: Mahnomen and Cook.
Stearns County leads the St. Cloud area in vaccinations, with 18,619 people getting at least one dose of the vaccine so far, accounting for 11.9 percent of the county’s population.
