(KNSI) – The Minnesota Senior Games will return to St. Cloud for the next two years.
This year’s event will take place from August 3rd through August 6th, with hundreds of athletes age 50 and older from across Minnesota. They will compete in over 20 events, including track and field, swimming, cycling, table tennis and pickleball.
Visit St. Cloud Executive Director Rachel Thompson told KNSI News they’re excited about the announcement because it’s always a boost to the city when hosting large events. “When you’ve got folks coming into town, they’re needing somewhere to stay, they’re needing a lot to eat, they’re needing things to do before and after the games.”
The games are open to the public and free to attend.
The Minnesota Senior Games celebrates health, fitness, and the competitive spirit of older adults. The annual multi-sport event is a chance for athletes to showcase their skills, compete against their peers, and enjoy the camaraderie of other athletes.
Registration for 2023 closes on July 17th. To register, click here.
St. Cloud also hosted the games in 2015, 2016 and 2019.
