(KNSI) – The City of Sartell is asking residents to review an environmental assessment on the proposed expansion of 15th Street North.

Staff began looking at paving an extra two miles from Pinecone Road west to 30th Avenue North in 2017. It has now completed a feasibility study and assessment. Comments will be accepted through August 4th. You can submit your thoughts to City Administrator Anna Gruber by mailing 125 Pinecone Road North, Sartell, MN, 56377, or emailing anna.gruber@sartellmn.com.

The proposal is for a two-lane road, with dedicated turn lanes at busier intersections. There would also be one roundabout at 15th and Pinecone.

The city is asking for $2.15 million from the federal government in the upcoming transportation bill. If that occurs it can begin construction earlier. As of now, Sartell hopes to purchase the right of way for the new corridor in January 2027. The work would be completed by June 2030. The total cost is estimated at over $14 million.
