(KNSI) — The National Weather Service says June 2023 was one of the warmest and driest on record for St. Cloud.

St. Cloud hit 90 or above eight times last month, with a string of five days in a row starting on the 19th. The monthly mean temperature was 71.5 degrees, 5.5 degrees above normal, making the month the fourth warmest. The temp takes into account the high and low of each day during the month.

Observed precipitation was just .67″ making for the third driest June. The piddly amount of rain we received was 3.08″ below normal.

The most current U.S. Drought Monitor as of publishing time, which was released June 29th, shows all of Benton and Sherburne, and a portion of Stearns County is in the D2 category, considered a severe drought.
