Officer Decker Memorial Dedication set for August

(KNSI) – The dedication of the Officer Tom Decker memorial is scheduled for next month during Bonifest in Cold Spring.

The ceremony will happen on Sunday, August 13th, at 5:00 p.m. outside of the police station/city hall at 27 Red River Avenue South. Decker’s family will also be the grand marshals during the parade earlier in the day, with the dedication to close out this year’s festival.

Decker was a part of the Cold Spring Police Department when he was shot to death responding to a call for a welfare check on a man in November 2012.

The memorial has been planned and constructed over the course of 18 months.
