(KNSI) – Minnesota State Week starts Monday. Application fees for all 26 colleges and seven universities of the system will be waived.
Chancellor Devinder Malhotra says Minnesota State schools offer the lowest higher education tuition rates with several opportunities for scholarships. She adds that taking advantage of lower fees is a great way to maximize value and limit the amount of debt needed for college.
Running from Monday through Friday next week, there are special visits planned at all 33 colleges and universities in the system, including St. Cloud Technical and Community College and St. Cloud State University. Average tuition at colleges will remain at $5,471 and $8,685 for universities.
The freeze is part of the higher education budget passed in the last legislative session. It also provides for the North Star Promise program in Fiscal Year 2025, which makes tuition free for students from families making less than $80,000 per year.
Malhotra says, “Minnesota State Week is another way for students to get an outstanding education value and the ability to limit or avoid debt.”
