(KNSI) — Smoke from Canadian wildfires will make its way across the area over the next day to day and a half, thanks to the northwest winds.
The National Weather Service says temps will be well into the 80s across much of Minnesota, and moderate ozone may become more widespread, especially across the southern part of the state. Skies will be hazier, and the Pollution Control Agency says the air quality will dip into the moderate category through the end of the day on Wednesday. Heavier ground level smoke will impact northern Minnesota through tomorrow.
The prevailing winds will switch and come out of the east on Wednesday night into Thursday, which should blow the smoke out of our air.
The MPCA says it will continue to monitor and update the forecasts and issue an air quality alert if conditions warrant.
