(KNSI) – Cue up John Philip Sousa! It’s a red, white, and blue week-long celebration in Becker with Freedom Days.
The medallion hunt is underway and tonight at the splash pad from 5:30 to 7:30 there’s a bubble party. Beginning tomorrow, the Sherburne History Center unveils its visual arts showcase along with an ice cream social from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. During the day, there will be a free windshield chip repair event held at American Family Insurance from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Walking tacos are scheduled to be served for lunch at Steil Insurance from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The festival truly gets going on Friday with the Becker Blast Softball Tournament. Bill’s Family Foods will be serving up one dollar meals from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m., plus a car show starting at 4:00 p.m. and the American Legion Block Party with live music, a raffle and silent auction, and food from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. Softball, hot rods, and perhaps a slice of apple pie is peak Americana.
Saturday is the parade followed by dance and musical performances, which last until the fireworks light up the night sky at 10:00 p.m. The full list of events is here.
