(KNSI) – The St. Cloud Public Works Department is once again pulling back the curtain on the city’s stormwater system.
Cheers to Clean Water: Get to Know Your H2O starts at 5:30 p.m. on June 29th. Participants will learn about rain gardens and native plantings throughout St. Cloud and how we benefit from them. City employees will give a demonstration of a street sweeper.
If you have ever spent some time wondering how rain gets from where it lands back out into area aquifers and waterways, staff from the department of public works have the answer. They’ll talk about what we do to clean the water before it makes its way back to nature. Those on the tour can have a look underground through monitoring cameras and will be taken around to view the art that dots storm drains throughout the city.
It all wraps up with food and drinks at Pantown Brewery. A link to register for the tour is here. The cost is $12 per person and it begins at the east entrance to the St. Cloud Area YMCA off of Northway Drive.
