(KNSI) – A 71-year-old man is dead after he lost control of his motorcycle on a curve on Highway 169 near Princeton Monday evening.
The Minnesota State Patrol says Bruce Mikkelson was passing two other motorcyclists and traveling too fast on his 2007 HD FXST bike for the turn. The crash occurred at the South Junction near Rum River Drive. The motorcycle went off the road on the left side, coming to rest in the median.
The Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office says alcohol is a factor in the crash and Mikkelson was not wearing a helmet. Assisting MSP at the scene were Princeton Fire and Princeton Police Department, the Mille Lacs County Sheriff’s Office, and North Memorial Ambulance.
