(KNSI) – Central Minnesota is getting millions from the largest infrastructure bill ever approved by lawmakers.
The Legislature finished its 2023 session overnight and approved a historic $2.6 billion in spending, with $1.1 billion in cash and $1.5 billion through bonding.
St. Cloud has several big projects getting funding, including $7 million for the Great River Children’s Museum, $5 million for a CentraCare medical campus, and $3.9 million to upgrade the St. Cloud Regional Airport.
The surrounding communities came away with some funding too. The Ledge Amphitheater in Waite Park will get $2.5 million for its planned phase two development which includes expanding the paved parking area and itehr improvments. They city had askied for 7 Sartell will get $2.5 million for flood hazard mitigation.
Stearns County is getting $7.5 million for improvements to 30th Avenue North (Town Line Road) between Stearns County Road 5 in St. Stephen and Stearns County Road 4 in Sartell. South Haven is getting $3.5 million for drinking water improvements. The Minnesota Military Museum at Camp Ripley is receiving $5.7 million for renovations.
The bill awaits the governor’s signature, and he’s pledged to sign it.
