Driver Arrested After Multi-County High Speed Chase

(KNSI) — A 27-year-old Minneapolis man is in jail following a multi-county pursuit at speeds of over 100 miles an hour.

According to the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office, they were notified by the Howard Lake Police Department a chase that started in Wright County had crossed into Meeker County on Highway 12 westbound. Someone had called in a complaint about the driver for weaving, crossing over lanes of traffic, passing on the shoulder, and almost causing a head on crash with a semi.

Deputies from Meeker County and officers from the Litchfield Police Department joined in as the driver sped south on Highway 22.

As they started to slow down, a deputy performed a pursuit intervention technique and got the driver to stop. He was arrested without further incident and is facing several charges.
