(KNSI) – A Sartell Middle School student is heading to the nation’s capital to show how much he knows about the past.
Seventh grader Isaac Knoernschild will represent District 748 and Minnesota at the Middle School National Championship hosted by International Academic Competitions. The event tests kids’ history, geography, science, and humanities knowledge.
Isaac won his spot in the competition by taking an online exam in November and advancing to a regional tournament in January. He will compete against students from throughout the U.S. in the History category from June 1st through June 4th in Washington, D.C.
To prepare for the competition, Isaac took a 10th-grade World History class. Isaac says his favorite class is Social Studies.
