(KNSI) – Two people are under arrest after a multi-agency investigation regarding trailers stolen from Hilmerson RV.
The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office says it worked with the Mille Lacs County Sheriff’s Office, Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office, and the Aitkin County Sheriff’s Office after the campers were reported stolen. One was taken on January 2nd, the other on January 4th. Police say surveillance video showed that the same suspect vehicle was involved in both thefts. Both trailers have since been recovered.
Investigators say they discovered a lead after the first stolen camper was found in Mille Lacs County. That suspect was tracked to a home in Crow Wing County and then to rural Aitkin County, where the second camper was reportedly found early Wednesday morning. Inside the camper, police say, were illegal narcotics, drug paraphernalia, and two suspects who were arrested at the scene. They are both awaiting formal charges. Also on the property was another enclosed trailer reported stolen out of Stearns County.
The investigation is ongoing, and police say more arrests and charges are coming.
