(KNSI) – A St. Cloud area airplane club will give kids a view from the sky for free next month.
The Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 551 is hosting a Young Eagles Flight Rally at the St. Cloud Regional Airport on Saturday, May 13th. Kids ages 8 to 17 will have a chance to get taken on a roughly 15 to 20 minute flight around the area and learn more about aviation. Registration is required and begins on May 1st. There is a maximum of 60 spaces available.
The rally is part of the EAA Young Eagles Program, created to interest young people in aviation. Pilots at the event will also explain more about safety, and their airplanes, allowing young people to discover how they work. Each pilot volunteers their time and aircraft. Following the flight, each young person will receive a certificate making them an official Young Eagle. The EAA Young Eagles club is celebrating 30 years together.
