(KNSI) – The St. Cloud Rox are adding arms from some of college baseball’s most prestigious conferences in an attempt to stay on top of the Great Plains West Division.

Now in its second decade of play, the club has quickly become one of the best in the Northwoods League. Some of the hurlers the team will feature this summer include Micah Ashman from the University of Utah. He has allowed just four earned runs in over 24 innings of relief in 2023 for the Utes.

Brayden Risedorph pitches for the Indiana Hoosiers, who are tied with Nebraska for first in the Big Ten. The freshman was the No. 2 right-handed pitching prospect in that state coming out of high school.

Southwest Minnesota State sophomore starter Ryan Chmielewski is from Foley. He pitched a team-high 61.2 innings as a freshman in 2022. Also snapped up is a reliever from Tarleton State University, Jake Burcham.

The Rox home opener is Friday, June 2nd against La Crosse. The squad begins the campaign on Monday, May 29th against the Northwoods League’s newest team, the Minot Hot Tots.
