(KNSI) – Unseasonably cold temperatures and high water led to a rescue situation near Warroad earlier this week.
United States Customs and Border Patrol say they were notified by Royal Canadian Mounted Police at about 4:00 a.m. Tuesday of nine people suffering from exposure in a flooded bog in Roseau County. They were taken to regional hospitals for treatment.
When medically cleared, they will be taken to a border patrol station for processing. Seven members of the group were trying to enter the country illegally.
No other details about the suspects have been released at this time.
