(KNSI) – CentraCare – St. Cloud Hospital is honored for its record-setting year of saving people through organ donations.
The medical facility was given Lifesource’s Hospital Partner of the Year Award. It goes to the place that best showcases a nurturing culture of organ, eye and tissue donation over the last year. In 2022, St. Cloud Hospital cared for 19 donors who gave 71 organs, more than any other year and nearly double 2021’s total. Those donors helped save 59 lives. Over that same time, St. Cloud Hospital had 57 tissue donors give healing to thousands and 45 eye donors who restored sight to those in need.
The honor was handed out on Saturday during a Donate Life Day event. St. Cloud Hospital works with a team from LifeSource to provide a daily presence at the hospital for organ donors and their families.
