(KNSI) — Now that the snow has melted and the plows have come off the trucks, the Minnesota Department of Transportation is rolling out the orange barrels for the start of our other season.

MnDOT has released the official list of road construction projects for 2023.

The biggest for central Minnesota gets underway on Monday as crews reconstruct the Highway 10/Highway 23 interchange in St. Cloud. The Highway 23 bridge over Highway 10 will be rebuilt, and on and off ramps will be reconfigured. A new 4th St. SE bridge will be built to span Highway 10 and connect the east and west frontage roads. Highway 10 in both directions will also be reconstructed between 15th Ave SE and Benton Drive. Highway 23 will be reconstructed in both directions from east of Wilson Ave. SE near the pedestrian overpass to the east of Benton Co Rd 1. Both configurations will include turn lanes, shoulders and entrances.

Drivers should expect periodic lane closures on Highway 10 between Benton Dr. SE and 15th Ave.,Highway 23 in both directions between Wilson Ave. and 25th Ave NE. Fourth St. SE will close between Lincoln Ave. SE and the frontage road for westbound Highway 10 as crews install underground utilities and reconstruct the road. The intersection of Lincoln Ave SE and Fourth St. SE will be closed to connect a sanitary pipe under the road. That will last through April 21st, weather permitting. Access will be maintained north and south of the closure on Lincoln Ave. SE. Early summer, Highway 23 will be one lane in each direction 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Highway 10 from St. Cloud to Clear Lake and Little Falls to east of Royalton will get high tension cable median barriers.

Highway 23 will be expanded to four lanes from Stearns Co Rd 33 in Paynesville to Highway 22 in Richmond for the North Gap Project.

Highway 301 and Minnesota Blvd. between Highway 10 and 15th Ave. SE will close on Monday to update the storm sewer and roadside drainage and reconstruction the road between 15th Ave SE and Highway 10. The historic retaining wall along the north side of Highway 301 near the prison will also be restored.

Statewide, more than 200 construction projects are planned, with 171 road and bridge projects, plus 52 that will improve airports, water ports, railroad crossings and transit infrastructure.
