(KNSI) – The Tech Morning Show brought home the hardware during the recent Upper Midwest Emmy Student Production Awards Ceremony. The current events show won four Crystal Pillars.
Multimedia Teacher Matthew Keil is in charge of the program and told KNSI News he’s proud of the students. “Definitely very rewarding for them to know that this effort was recognized beyond the school. It goes way beyond the school for recognition, which is really cool to see.”
The school’s Halloween special took home two honors for best special effects and talent. The students were also awarded in the cultural and arts category for their Martin Luther King Jr. Day coverage and best music video.
Keil hopes the recognition will inspire his students to reach their dreams. “They watch all the different types of awards that happen with the Oscars, and they just one day think, you know, maybe I could be there, maybe I could do that.”
A team of about 30 St. Cloud Tech High School kids write, produce and star in the weekly show. You can catch all four seasons of the Tech Morning Show, including its award-winning episodes, on YouTube.
