(KNSI) – Precision Inc. and Fortune Magazine have named St. Cloud Hospital as one of the country’s 50 best cardiovascular facilities.
Precision uses its PINC AI system to evaluate hospitals based on survival rate, amount of complications, readmissions, and overall cost. Precision says if every hospital was able to perform at the level of those on the list, we would save an extra 7,600 lives and avoid $1 billion in costs stemming from over 6,700 complications per year. St. Cloud Hospital has made the list 10 times in the past quarter-century.
Heart and Vascular Center Executive Director Phil Martin says, “The difference between this award and others is you have to demonstrate a five-year overall rate of improvement. Our program is committed to constant improvement, research, outcomes, and quality. This constant evolution means that patients can expect our physicians to have the latest technology available to treat the most complicated heart problems.”
St. Cloud Hospital was part of the top teaching hospitals without a cardiovascular residency program group, in 13th place. The only other hospital from Minnesota to make the overall list was Mayo Clinic in Rochester.
