(KNSI) – Two central Minnesota teams have made it to the Class AA State Tournament in Minneapolis this week.

The Albany Boys’ Varsity Basketball Team has drawn the second seed and Eden Valley-Watkins is one of three random draws, meaning they were between the sixth and eighth seeds. The Huskies start on Tuesday evening with a matchup against Pequot Lakes at 6:00 p.m. Even if the team advances, the quarterfinal round will be their only game at Williams Arena. The semifinal is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. at the Target Center, home of the Timberwolves.

The bracket’s top seed is Holy Family Catholic, who is slated to take on Eden Valley-Watkins on Tuesday. Holy Family was the only team to beat Albany so far this season. They won 76-68 on December 29th in the Granite City Classic at St. John’s University.

The Huskies enter the tournament at 29-1. Eden Valley, who edged Redwood Valley in the Section 3AA Championship last Wednesday, is 24-6. The Eagles also had to squeak by New London-Spicer, 56-54, to survive that bracket.
