(KNSI) — Hundreds of premature babies needing breast milk will be fed thanks to donations from women across central Minnesota.
The CentraCare Monticello Milk Depot collected 4,493 ounces of donor milk in 2022. That provided more than 13,000 meals for extremely premature babies born last year.
CentraCare coordinated eight milk donation events. Organizers thanked the women who donated their breast milk to help other families. This location is one of 29 depots run by the Minnesota Milk Bank.
The CentraCare Foundation bought the freezer for storing the milk.
