(KNSI) — The Chisago County Sheriff’s Office is releasing the names of the victims in a weekend triple homicide.
Authorities say 73-year-old Darrell James Mattson, 68-year-old Denise Lillian Mattson, and 47-year-old Kirk Patrick Mattson all died of multiple gunshot wounds. They were found in their home at about 8:00 a.m. Sunday, March 5th. A person of interest in the case was found dead in another location on Saturday, March 4th.
Police say the shootings were not random, and there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
Chisago County Chief Deputy Justin Wood said in a Facebook post, “We recognize the need for answers and calls for justice when an incident like this occurs within our community. We appreciate everyone’s patience as we continue to investigate and the members of this Office will continue to work diligently towards finding those answers you seek.”
