(KNSI) – The GREAT Theatre has 55 summer camps planned this year, helping kids as young as four improve on stage.
For the youngest cohorts, they’ll be taught the basics in half-day camps. Options are available to learn niche skills through one-day camps covering makeup, how to audition, stage combat, and costume design. Extended week-long units focus on sewing, sketch comedy, and singing.
Some of the most coveted slots are for the performance series camps for third through 12th grade. Each participant is guaranteed to get a role and act in costume for their friends and family.
Education Manager Colin Nord says, “With so much variety, there truly is a camp for everyone. Whether they participate to advance their skills or are trying theatre for the first time, camps give kids a safe place to express themselves, meet new friends, gain confidence, and develop teamwork skills.”
Registration opens on March 16th. You have the option to pay the full sign-up fee or you can pick your price and set enrollment at a cost that works for your budget.
Camps will take place in Albany, Annandale, Becker, St. Cloud, St. Joseph, Sartell, and Sauk Rapids thanks to partnerships with area schools and organizations.
