(KNSI) — The National Weather Service says the St. Cloud area has received more than eight inches of snow from this latest storm.

The official number is reported from the St. Cloud Regional Airport, and it said St. Cloud got 8.3″ total as of 6:00 a.m., with another two to four inches possible before the system moves out Thursday afternoon. Areas around St. Cloud may have gotten more or less.

The NWS forecast office in Chanhassen in the west metro received 12.5″, Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport reported 10.1,” and Eau Claire got 9.8″. Some spots got more than 18 inches of snow.

Counties in roughly the southwest quarter of the state have no travel advisories in place due to blowing and drifting snow. Roads in Lincoln, Lyon, Nobles, Pipestone and Rock County, including Interstate 90 and Highway 14, are closed due to poor visibility and being drifted shut.

After the snow stops, it will be cold on Friday and then temps rebound slightly before another round of mixed precip comes in on Sunday and Monday.
