(KNSI) – Minnesota’s not a bad place to be in during the pandemic, according to WalletHub. On its ranking of the safest states during COVID-19, Minnesota is ninth.
Minnesota places in the top 10 likely because it has the third-lowest test positivity rate on average and the fifth-lowest hospitalization rate.
There are areas for improvement, however. Minnesota is below average for its vaccine rollout, ranking 32nd, and its COVID-19 death rate is 14th among the 50 states.
Alaska takes the top spot on the safest states list, and neighbors North Dakota and Iowa take fifth and seventh place, respectively. South Dakota is 23rd, and Wisconsin is 26th.
