(KNSI) — The Minnesota State Fair is still six months away, but the fair announced the first act to play the grandstand this year.
Duran Duran: Future Past with Bastille and Nile Rogers & CHIC will hit the stage Thursday, August 31st.
Tickets are all reserved seating and will cost $77, $97, $107 and $197. That’s on top of the cost of admission. And food. And rides. And beer. They go on sale through ETix or by calling 1-800-514-3849 on February 16th. The State Fair Ticket Office will not be open for in-person sales.
Duran Duran have sold more than 100 million records worldwide, 18 hit singles in the U.S., six multi-platinum records, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, alongside multiple Grammy, BRIT, and MTV awards. In 2022, the group was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.
As co-founder of CHIC and chairman of the Songwriters Hall of Fame, Nile Rodgers generated chart-topping hits such as “Le Freak” (the biggest selling single in the history of Atlantic Records) and sparked the advent of hip-hop with “Good Times.”
Bastille’s number one debut album Bad Blood, which featured the international hit “Pompeii,” drove Bastille to become 2013’s biggest-selling global breakthrough act, with more than a billion Spotify streams, earning them the British Breakthrough Act award at the 2014 BRITS, along with two GRAMMY nominations.
The Minnesota State Fair kicks off Thursday, August 24th and goes through Labor Day.
