(KNSI) – A man was killed after crashing his snowmobile and being thrown into a power pole near Pequot Lakes.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office was called around 9:30 on Tuesday morning to a snowmobile accident on the Maple Leaf Snowmobile Trail. Officials say the 54-year-old man was riding a 2009 Ski-Doo Snowmobile when he hit a driveway approach along the trail, launching him from his sled.
Lifesaving efforts were attempted on the scene; however, he was pronounced deceased. An autopsy is scheduled with the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office, and the crash remains under investigation.
