(KNSI) – The Paynesville Area Community Foundation has been around since 2008 and now has its first-ever executive director.

Randy Schaefer will lead the nonprofit, which oversees $4.8 million in assets. He says, “I am honored to have been selected to serve in this role and have the opportunity to be involved broadly in the community.”

Schaefer is a native of Paynesville and moved back home after a 36-year career in the financial services industry. He was hired late last month and is still getting settled into his role. He says, ” In the coming weeks, I will be connecting with the foundation board members, fundholders, non-profit organizations, and area leaders to learn more about the foundation and the opportunities to serve the community. I am excited to engage with you and be involved in all the great things that we will continue to work on together for the betterment of the area for today and for the future.”

Schaefer also serves as the president of the Friends of Paynesville Airport. The PACF is part of the CommunityGiving nonprofit network. It oversees the Central Minnesota Community Foundation, based in St. Cloud among many others.

CommunityGiving President and CEO Steve Joul says, “Randy will also be a part of the overall CommunityGiving team working collaboratively to serve local donors and provide philanthropic support to the PACF as it continues to grow and create even more impact in the Paynesville area.”
