(KNSI) — Two major companies say they will reduce hours and close some locations earlier due to staffing shortages.
The Wall Street Journal first reported the adjustment in hours due to a nationwide shortage of pharmacists.
CVS is adjusting hours at about two-thirds of its retail pharmacies. The company says it conducts reviews to ensure the pharmacy hours coincide with peak demand times, and the shift is part of regular business practice.
Walmart says the pharmacy will close at 7:00 p.m. instead of 9:00 p.m. at most of its 4,600 stores.
The changes at both companies will be complete by the end of March.
