(KNSI) – The Minnesota Twins continue to be active this offseason.

First, the club surprised many by winning the Carlos Correa sweepstakes, keeping the highly touted shortstop in the Twin Cities for six more years. Now the Twins are sending the defending American League batting champion, Luis Arraez, to Florida with two prized young players coming back.

Pitcher Pablo Lopez went 10-10 in 2022 with a 3.75 earned run average. The 26-year-old righthander struck out 174 in just 180 innings. He features a swing-and-miss changeup that keeps hitters off balance.

The Miami Marlins are also throwing in teenager Jose Salas. In 164 minor league games, Salas has scored 95 runs and driven in 60, while hitting .268. All of that production comes at just 19 years old for the Kissimmee, Florida native. MLB.com ranked Salas as the number five prospect in the Marlins system.
