(KNSI) — The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office says a man has been arrested after leading police on a high-speed chase that at one point went through several backyards and ended in a multi-vehicle crash.
Police say the suspect was first spotted on County Road 4 in St. Wendel Township at 10:51 a.m. Monday. Another driver said the suspect was going the wrong way and driving erratically. Deputies pursued him, and they say he went through several yards to escape. The deputies pulled back but remained on the lookout for the man.
A short time later, police say they were waved down by a construction crew nearby that said someone just stole one of their work trucks. Sartell Police allegedly saw the suspect, who they said fled again until he crashed into another vehicle in St. Cloud at the intersection of 36th Avenue North and 10th Street North.
Both drivers had to be taken to St. Cloud Hospital for treatment. Their conditions were not released.
The Stearns County Sheriff’s Department is continuing its investigation, with no further information available at this time.
