(KNSI) – A $5,000 reward is being offered for information related to an apartment complex fire in Minneapolis that occurred Saturday, December 3rd.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, or ATF, is aiding state and local officials by deploying its National Response Team. It says this is common practice regarding a large fire, particularly in wintertime.
The reward does not necessarily mean arson is to blame. Special Agent in Charge William McCrary says, “Our intent for the reward is to expedite the investigation by helping to narrow down possible causes, all of which is a part of our investigative process. We encourage people who have valuable information to come forward and help bring this investigation to a successful conclusion.”
Tips can be submitted by phone, email, or through the Report It app. The number is 888-ATF-TIPS (888-283-8477). To submit it electronically, email ATFTips@atf.gov or www.reportit.com. If you use the App, select “ATF-St. Paul Field Division” as the reporting agency.
The complex is located at 2312 Lyndale Avenue South. A portion of the building collapsed due to damage from the fire. This is the first time in two years that the ATF’s National Response Team has been deployed to Minnesota.
