(KNSI) — Representative Paul Novotny has been appointed to serve as the lead Republican on the House Public Safety Finance and Policy Committee when the 2023 legislative session begins on January 3rd.
Novotny is a retired law enforcement officer and is set to begin his third term this January.
“Public safety has been top of mind for Minnesotans as crime continues to rise in the Twin Cities and around the state,” said Novotny. “As the Republican lead on this committee, I will continue fighting to keep victims and their families the priority of the criminal justice system and ensure law enforcement has the resources they need to keep us safe no matter where they live.”
He also sits on the Human Services Finance and Policy and Judiciary Finance and Civil Law committees.
