
(KNSI) – Thirteen organizations around Central Minnesota have been awarded grants from the Central Minnesota Community Foundation for projects that support women and girls.
Through its Women’s Fund and the Julianne Williams Fund, the foundation is awarding more than $74,000 to the grantees.
One of the local grant recipients is GREAT Theatre in Waite Park. Its grant will fund the Telling Our Stories: Stearns County Women Who Blazed the Way program.
Another recipient is Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Minnesota, which is headquartered in St. Cloud. Its grant will benefit the Dr. Potter Bigs on Campus Mentoring Initiative.
A sum of $60,000 in grants comes from the CMCF’s Women’s Fund:
- $6,300 to Legal Aid
- $7,250 to Anna Marie’s Alliance
- $8,000 to Crisis Nursery
- $7,150 to GREAT Theatre
- $4,000 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Minnesota
- $7,150 to Victims of Torture
- $8,000 to Promise Neighborhood
- $5,000 to the Good Samaritan Fund
- $7,150 to Career Solutions
The foundation will allocate an additional $14,405 in awards through the Julianne Williams Fund, which focuses on building up young women and girls through outdoor activities.
- $3,071 to the Girl Scouts
- $3,778 to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Minnesota
- $3,778 to Stronger by Nature
- $3,778 to Les Voyagers
