(KNSI) – Give to the Max Day was a major success, according to organizers.

In 24 hours, Minnesotans donated $34,067,008 to 6,439 organizations. It was less than last year’s $34.4 million but smashed the 2019 and 2020 totals.

GiveMN was giving away more than $100,000 in Golden Ticket prize grants and Golden Tickets. Those are random chance drawings the organization called a lottery for good. Local 15-Minute Golden Ticket winners were the Central Minnesota Sustainability Project, Light the Legacy, Sisters of the Order of Saint Benedict, and Franciscan Sisters of Little Falls. They all received a $500 bonus donation. The CentraCare Foundation was an hourly Golden Ticket winner and was awarded an additional $1,000. The Central Minnesota Sustainability Project also got a $500 Early Giving Golden Ticket.
