(KNSI) – With Thanksgiving less than a week away, travel experts say brace for busy roads and airports.
Bursch Travel Marketing Manager Gretchen Winters says they are seeing travel levels beating 2019, which had strong demand. “I read one statistic where they think there’s probably going to be about a 6% increase over 2019 of people traveling the holiday week for Thanksgiving.”
She says people are traveling despite sky high prices. Winters talked about what’s pushing the demand. “The last two years they haven’t had an opportunity to be together on a holiday. Maybe they’ve seen their family but it is most important to get together on the holiday and celebrate like they have in the past. So, that’s driving a lot of it.”
Winters says most airlines have added more staff to avoid the long delays and canceled flights that many travelers had to deal with last summer. She said if you are flying, pack your patience.
