(KNSI) — The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train will once again light up the tracks across Minnesota next month.

After a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the train will again get rolling for its 24th year, raising money to help local food shelves, Santa Claus and live music. The 14 rail cars will be hard to miss as they are adorned with thousands of lights creating festive designs.

The CP Holiday train pulls into Winona at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 11th, and the rolling party stops in central Minnesota on December 14th.

All times are subject to change.

5:45 p.m. Buffalo at the 5th Street Northeast crossing on the west side of the tracks

7:15 p.m. Annandale on the west side of Downtown Park over the Oak Avenue Crossing

8:55 p.m. Eden Valley at the State Street Railway crossing

From there, it will stop in several more communities, including Glenwood, Alexandria, and Detroit Lakes.

The events are free, but attendees are asked to donate to their local food shelves. Since the CP Holiday Train started its trek in 1999, more than $21 million and five million pounds of food have been distributed at food banks across North America.
