Comedy for a Cause November 17th to Benefit Anna Marie’s Alliance

(KNSI) – Enjoy a night of entertainment and help out a St. Cloud area battered woman’s shelter at the same time. Comedy for a Cause is supporting Anna Marie’s Alliance on Thursday, November 17th, at the Red Carpet Event Center in St. Cloud.

Organizer Lisa Marvin says the shelter is helping save families. “The letters that we get from the people that have been helped at the shelter are incredible and it makes a difference. It gives a family a little bit of time to get back together and figure out what’s their next step and what can they do and they can be safe.”

She says the night will include comedian Ali Sultan, heavy appetizers, a silent auction and a cash raffle. There are three $500 prizes for participants and one for an Anna Marie worker. “The fourth $500 that we got from a sponsor will go in a cap. We are going to put all of the Anna Marie employees’ names in there and we’re going to pull one of them because they work so hard and they give so much back that we would like to pick one from their organization to be the winner.”

Tickets are $45.00 per person and must be bought in advance. The deadline to get your tickets is Monday. The Central Minnesota Multi-Housing Association sponsors the event. All the money raised will go to the shelter.
