(KNSI) – Saint Cloud State University has been selected as a host site for a regional Small Business Development Center office.

It will be one of nine in Minnesota responsible for the central part of the state. The SBDC is an agency within the Department of Employment and Economic Development that helps nurture new companies. It will provide consulting services, trains entrepreneurs to create and refine skills needed to run their businesses, and aids them in applying for financing to get their ideas off the ground.

The new network will work with the African Development Center. The University of St. Thomas will coordinate the partnership, including at the ADC office in St. Cloud.

The assignments run from 2023 through 2025. DEED Commissioner Steve Grove says, “We’re thrilled to expand their footprint in Greater Minnesota and to the African Development Center – making sure we reach people and businesses who face systemic barriers to growth.”
